Get Off The Screen , why?
People have been asking what it is exactly that I’m doing with my Get Off The Screen movement, proposing t-shirts, tote bags, coasters, a guided meditation, and why.

Like me, you have observed people glued to their screens, phones, tablets.
No one’s looking around.
Very few people are saying hello anymore, or exchange friendly looks.
Some people are actually startled at the mere hello, like you’re taking them out of some sort of a protective zone. Who are you, and how dare you interact with me?
It’s wise to be a bit cautious when someone tries to talk to us. You never know.
But it seems to be more than that. People have lost the ability to interact with one another, like it has become bothersome, unnecessary. The screen seems so much more enticing, there are so many treats for the mind, Pandora’s box has opened.
The danger of losing the connection to one another is indifference to the outside world.
Losing the ability to see the beauty, or what is exciting around us.
And there is almost always beauty and something interesting around, especially in nature if you have the chance to have access to it.
Screens are draining. Scroll for thirty minutes, you’ll feel empty somehow, and anxious.
Too much information too fast, no time to absorb it, just the rush for the next potentially exciting shot of adrenaline. Exhausting.
Walk in nature, cuddle with your cat, interact with another human beings, enjoy your coffee quietly gazing around.

Feel the difference.
Phones and screens are not going anywhere, and they don’t have to. Technology has its perks when used in moderation. But we are clearly off balance with those things now.
Balance time between on and off the screen, be aware, set yourself free, because we have become dependent.
The t-shirts I am proposing and the people who are wearing them are walking, silent reminders of that. People who believe this message is good for our society, and that the more it is repeated, seen, the more it will sink in.
For our Youngs, who haven’t lived during an era when there were no phones and don’t know any better. For ourselves, because most of us adults have also fallen into the rabbit hole.

Get Off The Screen , now.
